Green Health Canada Inc. (GHC) is now offering two year Environmental Infection Control Training and Consultancy contracts for Housekeeping Departments in Healthcare Settings. These contracts are individually tailored to meet all of our clients' requirements.

Whenever a health care facility enters into a contract with us, Green Health Canada Inc. takes on the role as the “competent environmental infection control and safety advisor" as required by Public Health Ontario, Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) Best Practice Documents, JCIA Prevention and Control of Infection (PCI) Standard, and JCIA Facility Management and Safety (FMS) Standard. Details of our specific qualifications and experience will be provided to you upon request.

Our team will train housekeeping supervisors and housekeeping staff and, supervise their progress both on-site and on-line. We will gladly assist with pre-qualification questionnaires for existing and potential contractors.

Our basic two year support contract includes:
  • An audit of housekeeping staff's qualifications, level of experience, and suitability of training they have received.
  • Quarterly on site training sessions including refreshers on the following topics:
    • Cleaning methods.
    • Cleaning frequencies and appropriate levels of cleaning and disinfection.
    • Cleaning and disinfection when patients and/or residents are on additional precautions
      • a) Cleaning rooms/cubicles on contact precautions
      • b) Cleaning rooms/cubicles on droplet precautions
      • c) Cleaning rooms/cubicles on airborne precautions
    • Workplace ergonomics and other occupational health and safety issues related to Housekeeping services.
    • Waste management
    • Cleaning spills of blood and body substances
  • Housekeeping managers and supervisors and infection control preventionists will be trained on the following:
    • Risk stratification matrix to determine frequency of cleaning.
    • Visual assessment of cleaning.
    • Advantage and disadvantages of hospital grade disinfectants and sporicides used for environmental cleaning.
    • Recommended minimum cleaning and disinfection level and frequency for non-critical patient care equipments and environmental items.
  • The contract will include unlimited telephone and email support.
  • A newsletter service which will update our clients with any changes in legislation.

There are many options that can be added to our contracts for our clients who have more complex needs including but not limited to:

  • Environmental cleaning following flooding.
  • Cleaning food preparation areas.
  • Construction and containment.
