Green Health Canada Inc. offers a unique opportunity for health sciences colleges and universities to utilize our experience in helping students to be more prepared for future employment. In addition, we will equip them with extensive knowledge of the core elements required for safety awareness and injury prevention.
Our experienced Canadian health and safety consultants manage programs for medicine and nursing students which are structured as outlined below.
- Quarterly seminars focused upon the following subject areas:
- The fundamentals of ergonomics;
- Tailored hazard identification;
- Introduction to occupational hygiene;
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) selection, fitting and maintenance;
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) for Canadian universities and colleges (HAZMAT for US institutions).
2.Biannual courses examining the role of nursing staff in environmental infection control and exploring the following:
- - Medical water quality and the nursing role in dialysis units;
- - Nursing roles in patient food safety and the five elements (WHO) for food safety;
- - Ventilation isolation methods (negative/positive pressure environments) and understanding the role of nursing in preventing airborne disease through means of available engineering controls, as well as the roles of other stake holders.
