Early on ENGworks saw the need for a cloud based management tool that could be utilized to find Revit content quickly and load it dynamically into a project. ENGworks delivers content in real-time via BIMXchange. Running directly in Revit, this lightweight web application leverages the ENGworks Cloud to provide a safe and reliable method of content delivery. This browser allows access to the ENGworks Revit content library containing exclusive pieces that have been certified by ENGworks. Since content is stored and updated remotely by ENGworks, there is no need for your company to waste valuable time with content management. In these regards, BIMXchange is complementary to Autodesk Seek. Advantages of Using BIMXchange Finding and locating content quickly and efficiently is crucial to the success of usage within a project. With BIMXchange users gain the capability to search the content library in each view. This advanced feature allows any user to search for values in all parameters of each piece of content. All content that is created for a manufacturer library is also included in the ENGworks library. Therefore, at no cost to the manufacturer, it is possible to expand use of the Revit content to many additional architects or MEP engineers. As content is loaded directly into a project from the ENGworks Cloud, the need for a company to manage or backup massive content libraries is eliminated. The browser also allows a user to load only the types of each Revit family that he/she plans to use in the current project. By using only the necessary types, a Revit model can remain as small as possible to increase productivity. BIMXchange facilitates future revision tracking, updates, and new content distribution. The browser allows the user check all content in their current project against the latest content in the browser. The browser allows the user to access multiple content libraries. Currently, there are three different types of libraries: ENGworks Discipline Specific, Manufacturer Specific, and Custom. The ENGworks library is a 'per seat' license that includes the entire collection of all content created by ENGworks and is updated as soon as new content has reached final approval. Manufacturer libraries are distributed by the manufacturers and contain fully certified content specific to that manufacturer. Finally, a company can create Custom libraries that may feature an entire client library, discipline specific breakouts, project specific content, or any variation thereof. Once authenticated, a user can easily change libraries via a drop-down selection set. |
