As engineers, it has been apparent to us for some time now that the landscape of talent and knowledge is evolving. This evolution has not only occurred externally to our companies, but internally as well. It is not enough for organizations to treat process improvement as one-time or periodic events. A sustained focus on process management and continuous improvement is key. For organizations looking to adopt a process to focus the business, establishing and growing it from within can be a daunting challenge. Tactical decisions should always be aligned with a high-level strategic plan based on clear objectives. While reactive strategies might work in the short-term, it is the long-term strategies that will generate, and ensure sustainable value creation well into the future.
